Safety Consulting Services
Charleston Safety provides Safety Consulting services for both construction and general industry clients. Our company was established to support our clients when they need additional professional resources to improve their safety programs, or to meet certain project requirements. We can design and author tailored Environmental Health and Safety programs that can be managed by existing staff, without the need to hire a full-time safety professional. For small to medium clients, this is often the most effective and efficient way to operate their safety program.
These programs can contribute to reduced injuries, lower risk, reduced workman’s compensation insurance rates, and a better TRIR and DART score.
Our Services Include
-
Companies with 10 or more employees are required by OHSA to have a written safety and health plan that should include certain key elements. Subcontractors working for industrial, chemical, and other clients with high safety standards will be required to have a comprehensive written plan regardless of the number of employees. Our safety professionals can develop a plan tailored to your company’s size and services. We are experienced with plan development for companies of all sizes and industries.
-
Charleston Safety, LLC can conduct 3rd party audits of your company’s local sites to provide verification of OSHA compliance and following company procedures. We provide a comprehensive written report and keep strict client confidentiality. For out-of-state companies working in South Carolina, this service can save travel time and cost.
-
Given the vast business environment and limited capabilities of OSHA, very few sites experience OSHA inspections. However, when OSHA selects your site for inspection, knowing what to expect and how to respond is extremely important. We can assist with preparing your personnel for this experience by conducting a mock OSHA inspection.
-
Weekly safety meetings should be part of the routine in any workplace. Our subscription service provides new safety talk guides emailed each week, so you can keep the information current.
-
OSHA, MSHA, and the EM-385 standards require written hazard assessments to be conducted in the workplace to determine what hazards are present and what controls should be used. Also known as All Hazard Analysis, many clients such as the US Military require the development and submittal of AHA’s prior to starting a project. Charleston Safety can assist your company with developing these for new projects, new equipment, or existing processes.
-
More often, large companies are requiring their subcontractors to enroll in 3rd party vendor management systems, such as ISNetword, Avetta, and Browz. We are experienced with all of these and can prepare your company’s registration into the system. We can also perform the required monthly maintenance to keep your account approved for work. Companies that use these systems require their purchasing departments to select vendors from the approved list in the respective system. If your account falls into an unapproved status, your company could miss valuable opportunities to quote a project.

Lake Jocassee Project
Charleston Safety provided expert safety consulting services for Phillips Industrial Services Corporation, based in Goose Creek, SC, by developing a comprehensive 3D Lift Plan for a critical lift on the Lake Jocassee Intake Tower coating project in Seneca, South Carolina.
To ensure environmental protection during abrasive blasting, a weather-resistant containment system was crucial for safeguarding this critical infrastructure. The placement of a large Geotarp® over the structure required the use of a mobile crane, adding complexity to the operation.
Prioritizing safety at every step, Phillips Industrial selected Charleston Safety for their trusted safety consulting expertise, ensuring a smooth and secure execution of the project.
